| 2011-03-25 | | Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake 2011 | On behalf of the over 950 children who are currently experiencing a mentoring match relationship, the BFKS committee and the staff of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington, we would like to say thank you!
The cumulative results of the efforts of over 500 participants and 100 volunteers have resulted in gross proceeds in excess of $110,000.00. We are currently reconciling pledge sheets and issuing charitable receipts were applicable.
This year 42 bowl teams from local Tim Hortons franchises joined in. We had separate events for Best Buy employees, and Halton School Board teachers. Almost half of our registered teams were new teams to Bowl for Kids Sake. Veteran BFKS participants from Rheem Canada, RBC, Cogent Power, City of Hamilton, Old Navy, American Eagle, Shoppers Drug Mart, local service clubs and others returned for another fun filled year of bowling camaraderie.
A great deal of time and planning is involved in producing this event.
If you have a ideas or feedback, we would love to hear from you. We are also looking for committee members, we meet for about one hour, once a month. Please consider this rewarding opportunity, a chance to make a difference!
